Tue 9  AUCKLAND - SANTIAGO - SAO PAULO
Fly from Auckland to Sao Paulo via Santiago with Lan Chile.  
Accommodation for three nights including buffet breakfast.

Wed 10  SAO PAULO (B)
Today you will be taken on a full day city tour of Sao Paulo.

Today you will visit the old district, the Sé Cathedral, the Stock Market, The São Bento Monastery, the Edificio Martinelli, the Municipal Market where you can try the famous pastel de bacalhau or a sanduíche de mortadela for lunch, before heading to Jardins and the Ibirapuera Park.  You will also visit Ipiranga Museum, Theatro Municipal, and Sao Paulo’s Japanese town.

Thu 11  SAO PAULO (B & D)
Today at your leisure. Tonight you will enjoy dinner at Terraço Itália.

A  favourite not just for the excellent menu but also for the spectacular city view. Occupying the 42nd floor of Sao Paulo's tallest building, Terraço Itália is set to impress. At night, there's live music and dancing.

Fri 12 SAO PAULO – RIO DE JANEIRO (B)
Fly from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro.
Accommodation for five nights including buffet breakfast.

Sat 13  RIO DE JANEIRO (B)
Today you will be taken on a half day city tour including a visit to Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Drive to ‘Praia Vermelha’ (Red beach), to take the two stage car up to the top of Sugar Loaf (270 meters-high), which grants the entrance to Rio's harbour and Guanabara Bay.

Late at night: Participation at the Samba Parade – Escola de Samba Beija-Flor or Mangueira  (exact day to be confirmed).

Sun 14 - Tue 16   RIO DE JANEIRO (B)
Today you will be taken on a half day Corcovado tour.

Drive to one of the older parts of Rio called Cosme Velho, to take the train to the Corcovado Mountain with the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer (2,300ft above sea level).
A modern Swiss-made cogwheel rail climbs the mountain.

Monday and Tuesday are free for Rio Carnival Activities

Wed 17  RIO DE JANEIRO – SALVADOR (B)
Fly from Rio de Janeiro to Salvador
Accommodation for three nights including buffet breakfast.

Thu 18  SALVADOR (B)
Today you will be taken on a half day Historical City tour of Salvador.

Fri 19  SALVADOR (B,L)
Today you will be taken on a full day Schooner Tour including lunch.

Sat 20 SALVADOR – SAO PAULO - SANTIAGO (B)
Fly from Salvador to Santiago via Sao Paulo. Accommodation for one night including buffet breakfast.
           
Sun 21   SANTIAGO - AUCKLAND (B)
Enjoy a morning half day sightseeing tour of Santiago.

Travel to Santa Lucía Hill, the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and Horse Club. Visit the Faba jewellery store where you can view the elaborate pieces in lápis lazuli, a precious stone only present in Chile and Afghanistan.

Day free and then fly in the evening from Santiago to Auckland arriving Auckland
